Millions of employees around the world have taken the Happy At Work Test to measure and improve their workplace happiness. Because they tell us where they work, we've been able to build the World's Happiest Workplaces List: the largest database of employee sentiment in the world.
Happy employees aren't just nicer to work with - they're measurably better for the business. Our data shows that happier employees give more discretionary effort, stay longer and take less time off sick. For business leaders, the World’s Happiest Workplaces List turns that into something you can actually see and act on:
See exactly how your organisation compares to your competitors, industry and the world's best using data from millions of real employees and not a one-off survey.
The same data that ranks your organisation also flags your employees’ flight risk and wellbeing risk before they show up in your attrition or absence reports.
Because this List is built on a decade of consistent and independently designed methodology, a World’s Happiest Workplace award carries more weight with your employees, candidates and the press, and goes beyond just an internal pat on the back.
Your data updates as your people keep taking the test and our AI agent lets you interrogate it whenever you need to, rather than waiting for a quarterly writeup.
Whether you're already a top scorer looking to prove it, or just starting to measure workplace happiness for the first time, the World’s Happiest Workplace List is designed to help you act on what your employees really want working for your organisation.

The Happy At Work Test was created by Lord Mark Price, drawing on three decades of practical experience at the John Lewis Partnership and Waitrose & Partners. It was developed in conjunction with behavioural scientists, the charity Action for Happiness and academics.
This simple and quick test does more than measure happiness — it accurately predicts:
The number of people who are likely to leave your organisation in the next 6 months.
Likely sick absence across your workforce.
The measurable extra effort a happy employee gives over a disgruntled one — and what that’s worth to your business.
There's no application form and no judging panel. If enough of your people have taken the Happy At Work Test, you're already entered - automatically and at no cost. Each January, WorkL recognises the World’s Happiest Workplaces with awards by country, industry, and demographic, and we celebrate all winners online and in the press worldwide.
If your employees haven’t taken the Happy At Work Test yet or if you’d like to increase your employees’ responses and therefore win a World’s Happiest Workplace award, an entry package can help you get there. This will give you access to your official award logo, rich employee data and insights as well as expert support from the WorkL team along the way.
Congratulations! Your award logo is now yours to use in your site, recruitment, marketing materials and wherever else you want candidates and customers to see that you’re one of the World’s Happiest Workplaces. You can also choose to activate the Data & Insights package to understand exactly what drove your organisation’s result and go beyond just showing that you achieved it.
Entering the awards is just the start. You also unlock your unique Business Information Page, custom data insights dashboard and your standing in front of thousands of candidates on the WorkL platform.
A CV shows experience. It doesn't show whether someone will actually thrive on your team. Because your World’s Happiest Workplaces data already measures culture and fit, it's also the foundation for hiring better, matching candidates against real workplace data, not just keywords, and giving jobseekers an honest and verified look at what it's like to work with you before they apply.
A ranking is a starting point, not the answer for everything. It tells you where you stand - not why or what to do next. That's what our AI agent is for: put it to work using WorkL's data to benchmark your organisation against your competitors and the wider market in real time, and go deeper with quarterly reports sliced the way that matters to you by country, industry, gender or generation. You'll also get early access to new research from the WorkL Institute for Workplace Intelligence and a community of X+ culture-led leaders working through the same questions.
700,000+ employees use WorkL’s Global Hub, where they can Ask an Expert about coaching, mental health, legal, financial, equipment, offices and more. If there’s an area you specialise in, you'll get notified when someone's looking for advice and you’ll have the chance to become that trusted voice and thought leader that people trust and want to connect with on a daily basis.
The Global Hub is also the perfect place to promote your events to the 700,000+ employees on WorkL. Go beyond regular posts and add these in the relevant WorkL Communities to ensure your events are seen by the right people including reminders to those who want to get notified of events relevant to them.
For organisations who'd rather act on everything the data tells them than piece it together one package at a time, the All You Can WorkL Package brings your award entry, ongoing data insights and recruitment tools - all together in place.
We’ve received your details and the team will be in touch shortly.
