WorkL, a global leader in employee engagement, today announces the sponsor of the Best for Management category in the UK for the World’s Happiest Workplaces Awards, Manageable.
The news comes as the latest data from WorkL reveal that managers in the UK are the happiest and most engaged that they have been all year (July 83%) – an impressive seven percentage points higher than January 2025 (76.9%). The flight risk (i.e. how likely an employee is to leave their role in the next nine months) of managers also shows positivity with a current score of 11% compared to 17% back in January 2025. This means that there is a low probability that managers will be leaving their organisation within the next nine months.
The awards are the world’s largest programme celebrating workplace happiness, as voted for by employees themselves. Now in its fifth year, the awards recognise organisations that excel in creating environments where people feel valued, empowered and fulfilled at work. Based on data from WorkL’s globally recognised Happy At Work Test, which measures employee engagement across six key steps, the awards highlight companies that prioritise wellbeing, purpose and positive culture. Winners are announced annually in January and featured on WorkL’s live global leaderboard, shining a spotlight on the organisations setting the standard for employee happiness across industries and age groups. This new partnership underscores WorkL’s commitment to recognising and supporting the important work managers do. Manageable and WorkL will collaborate on a range of campaigns and programmes aimed at ensuring every manager is empowered through training. Manageable is a company on a mission to give everyone in the world the gift of a great manager, through training and coaching.
Commenting on the news, Lord Mark Price, Founder of WorkL, said:
“Great managers are the cornerstone of happy and productive workplaces. It’s fantastic to see engagement among UK managers hitting a yearly high, with clear signs of increased loyalty and positivity. Our partnership with Manageable is a powerful step forward in recognising and investing in the people who lead, inspire and support teams every day. Together, we will champion great management and help organisations unlock even greater potential.”
Commenting on the partnership, Farley Thomas, co-founder and CEO of Manageable, said:
“Managers have as much impact on an individual’s mental health as their spouse or partner. A great manager can inspire growth, foster trust, and create a sense of purpose that resonates far beyond the workplace. It’s excellent to see that the happiness metrics are moving in the right direction, which is a testament to the importance organisations increasingly place on wellbeing. We’re excited to partner with WorkL to support improved team engagement, starting where it matters most: managers.”
