Originally founded in 1890 as a single brewery, San Miguel has grown into one of Southeast Asia’s most diversified conglomerates, contributing roughly 6% of the Philippines’ GDP. While globally famous for its beer, the company manufactures everything from processed meats and poultry to packaging and refined petroleum. It is a cornerstone of the Philippine economy, managing critical infrastructure alongside consumer goods.

Established in 2004 as part of a government privatization initiative, Agthia is now a regional leader in the Middle East’s food and water sectors. They manage a diverse portfolio including the popular Al Ain Water, Grand Mills flour, and Al Foah, the world’s largest dates processing business. The group is increasingly focused on tech-driven manufacturing, recently integrating AI for date classification and sustainable “plant-based” bottling.

Brookside is the largest dairy processor in East Africa, managing a massive supply chain that supports over 160,000 small-scale farmers. Since entering the Ugandan market by acquiring Sameer Agriculture, they have become a regional powerhouse in milk, yogurt, and butter production. Their business model is unique for its “farm-to-table” integration, providing extensive training to local farmers to improve milk quality and yield.
